They certainly made a feast out of opening it. Sadly, this video looks to be a fictional production. If real, they would never post a record of it. The IRS would be after him. The Philippine government would be after them. At present, we have status of forces agreements with the government there where they can pursue criminals, active duty or not, and extradite them back for trial. In this case, they could confiscate the so called treasure. Every coin.

There are other indicators that this is fake. The box would not have lasted since WWII in the Philippine soil. I have dug up ammo boxes there that looked like they were made of lace. Despite current interest in beaded jewelry, there would not have been any puka-shell bracelets in the booty.

I say this is a fake.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

GD, The Coins were The Chocolate Pirate coins.  It was a spoof.   It was obviously a spoof after the first two minutes of the video.  I like the way they hyped it up.  Video was not well done at all.  At first I told the wife this is BS, the guy would be on his hand and knees digging and not Videoing.   Following that One Man put the chest on his shoulder and walks away with it.  LOL

They were all the rage back in the '70s. Surfers started the craze and they became a fashion statement. Imagine that? Zero cost broken shells strung together on elastic cord and sold for $50. Stores couldn't keep them in stock.
