my countrymen

as you all know, our country was under japanese occupation for about 5 years more or less during the WWII..during those time, the legal tender were japanese notes, otherwise known as mickey mouse notes and/or fiat money

i just learned that they still have some economic value attached to it...please feel free to send me a pm

and by the way, if you have victory notes (after liberation from the japs) as well it can be sold too...

Weird, it looks like they modeled it after the Dollar with the Motif in the Middle and the the Denominations set in the Corners.

What was your money like before that?

Homie, to answer your question, before WWII it looked a lot like US currency of the time.    The Philippines were under direct US control and governance from 1898 through 1935.   In 1936 they became a Commonwealth of the United States, which gave them the same status relative to the United States as Puerto Rico.    Attached is a bank note from 1937.

By the way, a lot of currency used in Asia was printed in and by the United States and consequently looked a whole lot like US currency of the same time period.
