Need clear photos of the actual bomb, along with specific measurements and any markings that may be partially obscured by dirt or weathering. If you have yet to actually encounter a bomb, ask again when you do.

To be honest I think an expert is required to disarm a bomg, especially an old one. Having an old bomb it eitehr may have become uneffective or very unstable which imposes an additional securiyt hazzard.

As Tabdog said: Please be carefull by any means!

Best wishes,

Christian

Hello cw. Welcome to our Forum . It is best to get a hold of the closest Military Base in your country . The bomb is probably from world war II and they will know how to disarm or destroy it . If you call anybody else , they will send you a big bill when they are done !!!!! $$$
Good Luck .......Regards.....Eugene

cw;

You have a big problem, IF you have a bomb. You may need a military expert, and backsheesh. Fight

If it is Japanese, you need the manuals on the right type of bomb, someone who can read Japanese (and understand it.) Then you have to have the right tools to defuse it. IF it is not too corroded to defuse. You also need someone who is crazy! Devil

If you are tunneling, cover it with padding (VERY gently)  and tunnel around it, after you are done, use some explosive and blow it up.... dont leave it and bury it back.

It is most likely too old to defuse and if there was a way to take it out, and take it out to sea, to blow it, that would be good but dangerous. Watch for boobytrap mechanisms.

When it is defused, it is still dangerous! treat it accordingly. Shocked

Brian AKA goldigger (not a bomb expert, they are all dead, but my uncle was. He,s dead too.)

Hello CW,
            Outback said it best! notify the authorties to have this item disposed of. That is what they get paid for.even though these devices are old they can still go off!! there was a case I believe it was in the carolinas that a person was disarming a old civil war bomb, and it went off, killing him. and the person was retired from the local police dept. who worked in the bomb squad!
           So the best bet is to notify eathier the police or military authorties to dispose of the device.
                             Best Wishes......Rob
