Alarm over treasure hunting in Lake Maughan
OFFICIALS of T'boli town in South Cotabato are expressing alarm over the reported presence of an armed group, believed to be treasure hunters, near crater-lake Holon (formerly Lake Maughan).
T'boli Vice Mayor Bobby Munday said the armed group, composed of seven to eight men, have encamped in one of the areas near the mouth of the 304-hectare lake, which is located atop the Mt. Melibengoy (formerly Mt. Parker) mountain range. . . . . .
Munday said villagers suspect the armed men belong to a group of treasure hunters who have been trying to locate a supposed cache of sunken Yamashita gold bars at the bottom of the lake.

My alltime favourite remains the silly town mayor who thought part of the treasure to be on the ground of a valucano and then blew the whole vulcano up. The vulcano erupted and there they went ...

I've also read about many variations of this treasure. There was obviously some gold but no one can tell me some one buried it and it's still there. Too many people would have had to know about it. That's why i think it's gone.

The treasure is there all right...bcoz out of 175 big volume treasures (500 tons gold and above)....one big volume treasure is sorrounded by several smaller or medium size treasures...and according to the japs...even in todays technology it would take a century to recover them all.
If you want proof of Japs treasure....provide or give me geo eqp'ts...and i will produce you treasures... :o

There has been a lot of undocumented but realistic rumors, gossips or just maybe hearsays on quick find of several gold bullions in San Fernando City, La Union. This city has witnessed one of the last ditch effort of the Japanese Imperial Army in WWII to make a stand against the USAFFE.

A well inside a house in the same city suddenly being intruded with clock-wise precision and excavated within an hour and intruders hurriedly getting off and leaving behind most of their expensive tools, equipments and other excavating paraphernalias. More of stories like these you can hear up to now in that city. These are stories but realities are almost always hidden as top secret...why? Security and greed.
