by the way my friend is selling a 75 kg block of unrefined platinum......we were able to chip a piece of it to be analyze using a sander because acetylene nor a steel saw can't break it.....it's 75% steel and 25 % platinum.....it's from a merchant vessel "MARU" that sunk during world war two. if you happen to know anybody interested in buying it just let me know, ok. here's my email ad ledesmacaloy@yahoo.com

How do you know it is 25% platinum? All Japanese ships are called Maru (With the name of the ship)

what " MARU" ? SAGAMI MARU? in davao city?  if it's sagami maru that is not platinum it is ordinary metal used in balancer it has a hole in its side. it was placed side by side of the ship i was one of the divers on that ship i salvage the propeller 250kls bronze and sold to bronze buyer in davao city.

Yes, ballast. There is very little genuine platinum in the Philippines.

Have to admit that I have never heard of ballast being used to counterbalance a hole in the side of a ship, only in the bottom of the hull for stability, but it makes perfect sense to me.

no it is a bar maybe 6x15x5 inches in its side has a hole going to other side maybe 3/4inch dia where bronze cable pass thru to other bar and so on. it was placed in the side of the ship left n right portion.

yup, if you love wreck diving in davao city just go to wind and wave davao experts will guide to sagami maru and other sunk japanese warships at talomo sea davao city. owner of dive shop is my cousin.
