Congrats on your find! Looks like a naturally-occuring metal to me. Gold doesn't sparkle, it has a warm glow even when shaded from direct sunlight; this is hard to describe, but once you've seen it glow, you'll never forget it. Iron pyrite (fool's gold) tends to sparkle in sunlight.
Suggest you test the streak of the metal (and if its a golden streak, test with the proper acids to determine the karat). If it's gold, you may have a good future as a prospector!
