Use the Overlay feature on Google Earth to put your map on top of the Google Earth Map.

Bogart, just rent a scanner/detector and have your site scanned.

There's no such thing. But the Easter Bunny can be flown to your site and give you a reading.

Wouldn't it be cheaper, and equally effective to just rent a regular bunny?  So long as the ears are the correct shape. Pointy!

Well got bad news for ya. Metal detectors dont do well in certain soils. You need a very expensive PI machine or better. Also several people have come before you, making claims. They then become argumentative and I giggle when seldom mutes them. You live on a island and your gonna dig a hole? Just think about the expense of such a venture. Its best to not throw money at this one.

All detectors are around the same price but PI machines, being much simpler in design than VLF/TR are normally a bit cheaper.

What he needs is a swat on the head with a reality stick. There are no scanners out there that can analyze an entire field.

Or he could rent one of those thumpers the Oil Fileds use to locate oil? I would like to see any military maps he has showing placements of units. I could at least give him a idea of where to look for relics.

Old maps are the best bet for finding battlefield detritus. That's the only use for them. Troops did not carry treasure with them. At most, a wedding band or a watch.

You dreamers kill me. How on earth do you believe war is prosecuted? Do you think soldiers carry gold bars around with them? They really didn't even have much need for cash in their pockets never mind thousands of pounds of jewelry and gold.
