It can be expected much from everybody the qustion of whether YAMASHITA Treasures really existed and was hidden in different places in the Philippines?Huh?  The fact is, Gen. Yamashita ransacted the Southeast Asian region, that's where he got the name "TIGER OF THE HIMALAYAS".  All valuable items especially gold-based items from occupied countries were confiscated from different within the said region and were stockpiled in the Philippines.  In the closing days of the war, the Japanese tried to smuggle them out through the backdoor channels of the Northern Luzon (Lingayen Gulf) but were ambushed time and again by the USAFFE.  A conservative estimated 75% of the YAMASHITA treasure remained in the country.

The rationale being, the Japanese government would have compromised in a surrender settlement to give up all other countries occupied during WWII and retain the Philippines as a colony (bades on research on WWII strategies of Japan).  So, one can just use his imagination!!!!

"TIGER OF THE HIMALAYAS" Huh? LMAO! Oh yes...the treasure's being guarded by the Abominable Snowman too, I bet. Thanks for the laugh! Grin

In addition to Hobbyist knowledge (or the absence of it) of WWII, the Japanese Imperial Army did NOT usually utilize civilians for slave labor but most of the time POWs (military personnel or guerillas captured).  Hobbyist missing this academic fact declares him totally inept in WWII history and thus Not in the know!!!! Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss

You are so laughable! Cheesy Cheesy Yamashita was called "Tiger of Malaya", not "Tiger of Himalayas". LMFAO! That shows how much you know, and your desperate attempt to save face is equally laughable!.

Do you know where the Himalayas are? Ever heard of a mountain called Everest? It's very very far from Malaya. dhee7, you have ZERO credibility and are no better than Gboy. Go spread your misinformation and lies elsewhere.

Mr. Cornelius, INDONESIANS?Huh???  Please DO NOT Try to re-write WWII history!!!!  You have not answered the question if you are  WWII vet?Huh?  Yes, some Filipino civilians were used but mostly POWs as they have control over them.  The Japs did not need to import slave labor fron Indonesia, there were more than enough here in the Philippines... we were 40 million people during WWII (definitely no shortage of labor!).  You should be the one to BRUSH up on OUR PEOPLE's history because we know better from books, actual accounts of witnesses and the evidence still existing in the country.  Have you been here in the philippines Mr. Cornelius?Huh?

Please accept my apologies HOBBYIST!  I reviewed your posting and it said that he has a "THEORY" (defined by WEBSTER as synanymous to assumption, hypothesis, conjecture, suppostion or GEUSS) ...so Hobbyist is GUESSING rendering his posting as the MYTH and not necessarily the YAMASHITA Treasures as it is based on history, supported by witnesses and proven by facts!!!!!!

HOBBYIST is therefore simply "THEORIZING" that the treasure is just a myth.  In reality he does NOT have FACTS to prove his theory.
{alt} Reason:

Tone of answers, yelling at Cornelius.

Please tone it down.

Your Posts are antagonistic.

dh3377 does not have any proof of any Yamashita treasure, just like Gboy.

Tell me...can you prove that the Tiger of the Himalayas really existed? Of course you can't. There was no such person! That alone shows how much you know. Cheesy

Like I said....you have ZERO credibility. Give it up and go have a beer with Gboy.

You HOBBYIST is the one with 000000000000000 CREDIBILTY as you have no research on the topic.  Obviously, you are NOT a wide reader on the topic.  Read more on WWII before emabrking on and debating what you DO NOT KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

As for evidence HOBBYIST, it seems that you have not read and seen the photos on the treasure finds of Mr. Marcos in Fort Santiago and Fort Bonifacio in the country.  The Golden Buddha in Baguio which stirred up a huge controversy in the past...I can go on and on like a story teller to a DUMBFOUNDED listener!!!!  DID'NT YOU KNOW THESE?Huh?Huh?Huh??  AND YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO DEBATE ON THE TOPIC OF EVIDENCE OF THE YAMASHITA TREASURE?Huh???
