Well we finally got around to doing our bottle garden how we originally intended. Besides all of the bottles we found, we also bedded the garden with all of the various mineral finds we dug up too. The base is made with Purple Flourite, Green Flourite, Agate, Jasper, Petrified Wood, Amazonite, and various crystals that our family found while rockhounding. The gemstones found will stay inside on display.

The small bottles we found are going to stay inside and we will make some shadow type boxes to display them indoors. We have about a hundred of the small bottles. I will post pics when we get them on display too.

It's a rock on the ground, it's a specimen when you take it home.

If you allow them to remain upright durring the Winter you will lose most if not all from water inside freezing.

That's really neat - I didn't know what a bottle garden was. Sue

Fortunately, that's not something we'd have to worry about down here in south central Arizona if any of us decided to reproduce the concept.    (And, Sue, it's obvious that you didn't have the benefit of getting an education at a fine Agricultural & Mechanical school like I had, or you would have known that a bottle garden is a place where you plant little bottles, or even glass shards, and harvest large bottles and jugs  Smiley )

BA

btw.....the garden looks great---it's easy to see that y'all are doing a great job of feeding and maintaining it.
