Hi Alan
I was wondering if you have a photo of the BIG ring that Jack Bosanquet
found. I remember seen it once some many years ago I try to remember the inscription on it but for the life of me I cant. Can you help?
Regards
Nickel

Poor old Jack passed away without my knowledge sometime back I remember that ring very well because of its weight and only an extravagant millionaire would lose something like that.  crikey your taking me back a hell of a long time now sorry I dont have the pic anymore.   There are many pics I wished i had copies of including the famous 3 gram gold crystal I found at Teetulpa.  Sorry.

Awww thats very nice of you to pass on the message Nickel, its good to know that some people back home still remember me I cant put a pictures to Bobs face to be honest.  But its good to hear he is still at it even if not in the water it just goes to show that once you get addicted to this great hobby your addicted for life.  I hope he and anyone else comes to that still gets a lot of pleasure out of the hobby even if its only collecting the odd dollar or two.  I dont get in the water myself these days but would love to because thats where all the goodies are.... Thanks a million for your reply give Bob my regards too, tell him to join and have some fun here too.
kind regards alan hassell

That  hand  full  of  gold  sure  looks  good,  it's  nice  when  you  can  find  that  much  gold   in  a  week  or  so,  that's  what  makes  treasure  hunting  so  much  fun.  Harold

Real nice pile of jewelry there! They don't make the 1000 anymore I don't think--musta been years ago. How do you like the newer surfmaster detectors by White's? I used a whites pulse and it leaked on me...I rinsed out salt water with fresh water and then poured a bottle of rubbing alcohol into the control box/electronics to evaporate the fresh water from unit. The next day the unit fired up and worked fine. But the o-ring must have went bad on it or wasn't greased with silicone grease as it should have been?

Theres a test report about the surfmaster on here somewhere. It was written with a machine that had a bouyant coil unfortunately.
A bad worker always blames his tools, not me I improvised and overcame to get a report made. The Surfmasters a very good machine and Whites put non bouyant coils on after they realised they had made a mistake.
As regards O rings they should be checked and silicon greased every time you open the case just to make sure because its better to be safe than sorry and pay for a un-necessary repair that could of been avoided.
