It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Whites Mxt

Go Up Go Down

Sorry for the late response. I have been busy hunting trying to build up my gold pile. To answer some previous questions. I have a Whites MXT, a original (red headphone) Excal and a new Excal II. This ring was found with the original Excal. I have been detecting for 5 years now. I hunted 2 years around N. Ga area and the past 3 here in the Caribbean. Needless to say, I have moved far, far away from Ga. I do still get the high, happy feeling when gold appears. There really isn't anything better than seeing a piece of free gold shining in the scoop. I run all metal, then disc from there. I dig almost all targets, because once most of the trash is gone, you will start hearing other, deeper goodies. I usually have some idea of what I am digging out, but you never know. I have been in a slump lately...1 month = 1 gold ring for the past 3 months. I'm not complaining, but I have a small leak in the red headphone excal and haven't been able to get in the water since Christmas. That's over now. I have added the Excal II to the arsenal now and will be back in the water this week. I should mention that the MXT has found it's fair share of stuff also. It's not the best "beach" detector, but it did pay for itself, then found enough gold to buy the used "red headphone" Excal...then that excal found enough to buy the new Excal II. I'm hoping now that the Excal II can find enough to buy me a boat...wishful thinking I know, but I have high hopes for the new MD and I know if it's out there and I swing over it, the Excal II will definitely let me know it's there. Thanks for all the nice comments.
