How much does soil moisture (after a good rain) aid in detecting?  Have read that it aids in depth (but how much?), does it also increase accuracy of identification?

Soil moisture will generally give you better depth, but will sometimes make pinpointing harder on Copper and ferrous metals due to "halo effect" (this has been debated, however..

But overall, the more more moisture in the soil, the better the detecting.

not to mention, it makes it whole heck of a lot easier to get the target out of the ground  Wink   (ask anyone who hunts in caliche or other concrete like substances)
