Thanks all for the digger info.
I did go to Lowes and picked up the blue handle 3 in 1 Gardener tool,13.00$ and some change.It has no sheath but it can fit right in my pouch so that's no prob.It seems very heavy duty,feels good in the hand,saw teeth on one side knife edge on the other.have not tried out some plug cuts yet "16 inches snow" but you can bet as soon as we get rid of some of this mess I'll be out an about.

you'll like it......since I've got other things handy to pound with, I duct taped a magnet to the flat top of the handle on mine. (now that I have an extension magnet, though, I'm going to take the magnet off the digger).

At least in upstate ny I been too two Lowes and they both had crap loads of em.The blue ones 'true temper 'it has on handle. looks like an A-1 digger and at fair price...

I hear ya Karl,if we can just get some warmer weather and stop the snow from piling up every time it snows it wouldn't be long till I can see bare ground....

Sounds like you found the right one......if it looks like this, you've got a keeper (found out it is also marketed under the Jackson label)
