I'm about to finish reading Michael Chaplan's The Urban Treasure Hunter: A Practical Handbook for Beginners.  From my perspective, this has been a good introduction to the many different types of treasure hunting and, to that end, I have enjoyed it.  What other books would you consider must-read for a newcomer to the hobby?

Hey LeDoux, I can't argue with Seldom's recommendation.....especially as the NEXT book(s) to read.   Have you checked out our "Recommended Reading" Board (go to the home page and scroll down to "Research and Techniques"?   You'll find additional recommendations in some of the previous posting here in Beginners (not to forget about searching the boards in specific topics such as "Beach & Shallow Water" for books specific to the subject).

Good luck (and think of it as honing your research skills  Wink )

BA

Seldom,
Thank you very much for the recommendations.  I went mining through my stacks of books and discovered my first treasure!  About six months ago (when I first started thinking about TH) I picked up a rather old looking book on treasure hunting at a yard sale for a buck but never cracked it open.  The book I found?  Karl von Mueller's The Treasure Hunter Manual #7.  Oh yeah...I was up till 1 o'clock last night reading it.

BA,
Thanks for letting me know about the board.  I haven't spent enough time here yet to have seen everything and I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.  There's so much content here it's not even funny.

Have a great day!
David
