I recently saw (part of) a show on the Science Channel that documented a couple of fellows who look for Meteorites using some kind of detector that they pull behind their pick-up truck. Once they get a signal, they do their pinpointing with regular, hand held detectors.
The show piqued my curiousity. I've seen "blanket detectors" advertised; that you drag along the ground. I like the size, but not the fact that they are dragged ON the ground. I wondered if a PI detector could be built on a wheeled frame, a few inches off the ground, and pulled behind an ATV. Does anybody have any information regarding how to build such a unit? Specs would be: square or rectangle "coil" dimensions - 4'-5' wide, and 4' - 5' front to back; able to be mounted on wheels or skids, and pulled behind an ATV. Controls/read-out would be mounted on the ATV.
Please give me a heads-up if you know if plans for something like this are available.
Sonny
