I used to hunt small game with a 22 for a little over 2 decades. Started as a young teen, permit, tests and all. Plenty of research jammed in my head and a large desire to use much of what I had book learned by being out there and DOING It. way before Nike ever made millions saying that! Nothing big time though, ya know, a few Grouse here, a rabbit or two over there but most of it was to try and relate to and maybe even emulate our forefathers from way back. Gettin' my own meat from the land and my own fish from the waters, was pretty well at the top of my reality of life list, at the ripe old age of 16. School, parents, girls, riches, jobs, cars, football, playing checkers, etc etc etc didn't matter to me back then. I was like, the backwoodsman addict. I HAD to be in the bush, to be happy. All that other stuff, was either boring, wrong, pointless, a waste of time, expensive, obligitory, mandatory or whatever etc.
All caused me many untold hours and days and weeks of grief in one flavor or another.
Some would call me anti-social or somesuch back then, but you know, then as now, I don't let that bother me. I'm not unfriendly at all, so shows you how people can be wrong, simply by not knowing. I'm actually quite comfortable and flexable with being who I am, and with what I believe in. Knowledge is indeed a LARGE key to our successes in life Jeff as I know, you know.
Now days Doc, as you and a few other folks in here know, I spend some of my time "Digitizing" these old beauties and try to do my little part about sharing them with others and spreading the word around some of these forums that I frequent.
I'm Very Glad 2 C U doin' similar stuff in here, monkeybud!
