Looks like a neat gadget, but I don't like it. Looks like it would be in the way for using your hands for other things, like using a weapon or holding on to anything. I would rather have one shaped like a baton that could function as a baton with a detector on one end and a taser on the other. That way you could beep or restrain as needed.

After reading about the probes earlier, when I saw this, I thought maybe a vibrator device could be used for one's palm in order to find targets easier after digging - kind of a hands on approach. Sue

The electronics needed would easily fit into a tiny area. Maybe a detector ring you wore on a finger or thumb. You could wear it on the opposite hand that held the main detector. A vibratory ring so you could easily 'feel' the target while you were grubbing around.

Ring detector - that's a really good idea!

$200 seems a bit much for what it is. They say that they have sold 300k units, I find that unlikely.
