I have a minelab sterling metal detector (20 yrs old). I've given up with it, it's useless. Spent the last 6 months in gold territory, average of 5 hours per day, 5 days a week. You'de reckon I'd found something by now. I' thinking of buying a Garret Scorpion Gold Stinger. Can anyone assist? What depth is it capable of with changeable coils? Is it better than my sterling? It's advertised as deep seeking - Is it? What size targets can I expect at certain depths? Am correct in not liking the sterling any more?
The reason I am looking at the garret detector is from recommendations (form sales persons) and affordable price> I would appreciated any comments that will assist in my final decision - or any recommendations please. I have the time on my hands to search, but I want to be in a position to be able to find and not feel like I am wasting my time.
