Don't matter to me.  I'm the noob. Found a bit of topaz. Just not sure if anyone could get a decent cut out of it. I'll check around for more bits and pieces. I do have a bunch of sapphire. So I may toss in some more. Best you might be able to get out of it would be cabbing, but the color is off. Again more of a specimen then gem.

I am going to try to get together a few other things. I've got some more general rocks like calcite, etc. Maybe a few auctions with maybe a grouping like the top, middle, bottom row.  What cha think?

What would be a good target price?    Donations to the Forum?

Right now I'm thinking open bid. Then having the winner do a direct contribution and sending it out after donation is confirmed. Thing is I am also open to one or more contests to add a little spice. Like I said I'm a noob here and don't know what would be best for the forum.  I have done other contests on another forum and they seem to go well. I'd even be open to having a combined deal. I.E. like the treasure chest deal mentioned earlier. One contest idea I kind of liked was a few clues to different items then a internet hunt to try to find them. But a warning sometimes they can go on awhile according to how obscure the lead. Other times I've seen them solve in a day.

Yep, it was kind of neat.  This is a real simplified version of it.  Say start with a theme. Cat for instance. List a few clues. 1 Mirror, 2 pharaoh, 3 hat the answers would be a picture of the Cheshire cat, one of the Egyptian cats, the cat in the hat. Or just go for a verbal answer. All the items have to be posted correctly in a single post. You can get pretty devious in the clues and also you could say it has to be a specific picture or item. With this group you could set up something along the lines of things you would find treasure hunting or metal detecting.  There's a lot of variations on it. Are you going to say if 1,2, or etc correct hits have been made. Are you going to specify which ones are right or just say 2 out of 3 right. Are you going to do new clues each day.

I've got a few extra rocks thrown in. Small pieces of orange and green calcite, jasper, unakite, jasper, citrine point, quartz point, mica, petrified wood, pyrite, smoky quartz. I want to keep it to small UPS package size.

If you do others I can toss in assorted other rocks on them. (I have a few tubs of assorted rocks.)
