Hi Cornelius,
Thank You for the suggestion, I am still working on my ROV project, while the rain
continues here I have all my components, ( except for the camera & monitor ) which I will get last. Im still working on a few design changes for easier access to change out parts when necessary. I hope to start putting it together in the next few days. I'll Post pictures when its all complete and functional. Best Wishes Always...Rob ( I still think Your ROV is  Great !! )

Treasurehunter 01253 .  What kind of motors are you using ?  Be sure to seal everything pretty good . To be more secure use expandig  foam to fill all the cavities when you are done ( you should not have to change the motors ! ) .  Above all what kind of coupling between the props and the motors are you using  . How is your controll panel shaping up ?  Cornelius

HI Cornelius,
Im using the plans I had found online to build my ROV, since it was pretty simple
and inexpensive. I'll put the link at the bottom of the post, a couple of things I was going to do diffrent was one make it bigger, and enclose the underwater camera, and use difffrent properllars and motors My Idea behind this was, for the fact that Im making this ROV Larger
is that the bilge pumps they suggested using in the origonal plans wouldnt efficiently move the ROV. and as far as the control box, I was going to use seperate switches for each motor and propellars,( I did have an idea to use a old cam corder with zoom capabilities,)
I value any ideas you have on this subject, As always Best Wishes ,,,,Rob

Rob I know this design . The thing to think about some more is the seal of the motor shaft . It is all nice when the seal is still new but after some use it will not do the job any longer . You may think that the unit is watertight up to 65 feet but remember the pressure is so great at 65 feet that the seal  will pinch the shaft and makes it hard to turn . Besides the motor will turn only in one direction . Your forward and backward movement is lost this way unless you turn the whole motor around .   Cornelius

Sorry if this is off topic, but I was reading your post and saw, "ROV."  What is an "ROV" (I'm a newbie)?

Rick

A ROV is a remotely operated vehicle. In this case they are talking about an underwater ROV.
