I got a set of 10 mile midlands, even got a voice activated hookup ya can use, they work good, real handy even when workin round the house, I use em when m buddy is a followin to a detectin spot, then we know where to turn and stuff, also on long trips on the interstate, i leave it on channel 1 cause that's what most people use, can hear some weird things on the interstate :

We tried a set when they first came out. Not to happy then, batteries were eat up in short order and the range was not to good. Now that newer models are out and they can use more power I think I'll try it again. Could have used a set a few weeks ago. I was outside up the pole with the sat-dish adjusting and the wife was inside by the TV. I had a cell phone and she was on the land-line.

Nice Doc, bbbut being as I'm still too old school for even a cell phone, this rig looks pretty scarry to my seen a lot ol eyeballs.   We used to yell at each other, so not too far away, to make sure we would hear each other and not get lost or seperated doing it. Then we'd head out in say, a westerly direction from our camp or car or whatever and then on the way back, we'd just head east. Course it always worked better if and when the sun came out, but man when it didn't, sometimes we'd be frigged for a couple or three hours, and once or twice we even had to spend an overniter. Turns out that can even stuff like that can play to the good for ya.    Also my pucked up ol purse strings don't allow me to spend more than I have to most times. Tough enough sometimes these days just keepin up with everybody that wants our money. Money is a little tight up on this cold old rock and as you may have figured out pretty good already, it will NOT be growin' on trees anytime in the near future. Because of all that and some other stuff, I've been hangin' on real tight to each one of the US wheaties I've ever found. What a rush it was, by the way, to see as many wheaties all in one spot, as youve shown us on one of your other neat posts, Dman. Now, these here units are great for other folks but this lil' ol doggie gonna has gotta go...thx 4 dat doc LB
