Not my favorite, but I had to say "yards of existing houses".
My "neatest" find was this 1724 King George the 1st half cent:

i really never know where one is going to found (oldy)

i like them big trees (i call them goons) that served as corner monumentation for property owners for sometimes hundreds of years.have found lots of oldy's around them in western pa. i've found oldy's around the state boundry markers that are set every mile apart, not many tho. riverbanks, parks ect...

it's all good hunting to me! Grin

Hey thanks, guys.

Doc... I found my first LC at the base of a tree (kinda obvious, that when trees pop up, they take up stuff with them, huh?). That was my train of thought that one day, anyway (and ever since)... and I was concentrating solely on tree bases that day.
Also... I found my very first "keeper" in a huge, rotted stump root... an 1800 half cent.
Trees are our friends!  Wink Cheesy

I'd like to see that, Doc...!
Or better yet... I'd like to observe someone ELSE seein' that... maybe get a snapshot of a facial expression! ("Ooooo, I love you, you big hunk of hardwood, you!"!) Cheesy
