I forgot to also mention I love to read fantasy novels.. oh, and Dayhiker you mentioned collecting/reading books - I think next month I'll be getting a Kindle for my birthday! We have five large bookcases (about 3 ft wide by 7 feet high) that are almost completely full at the house, so I thought that this may help cut down the numbers a bit.

don't expect me to switch to a Kindle anytime soon.....I'll read a book electronically if that's all I have available to me, but I prefer the experience of reading bound paper--- (and I probably fall somewhere between zul and seldom on the library size continuum....though I've yet to sell any)

I don't keep anything but history, treasure, reference, books that help me in what I do. But I can see were a Kindle could be nice if you read a lot of novels that you will read once and pass on.

Let me know how the Kindle works out for you zul32.

I haven't counted our collection (maybe scared to find out). More books than bookcases though. 3 large bookcases in the office,one small one in the living room, and boxes full in the basement. We are trying to pare them down though. Giving away, Ebay etc. Just keeping the cream of the crop. I don't think were in danger of going over 1k mark though.

4k wow, that's a lot of books. Quite a reference collection Seldom. Cool! Some day we hope to have a place where we can devote an entire room to our library. Until then we'll just manage our addiction. :-)

I've decided to wait for a while before getting one. My wife's had hers for over a year and swears by it. So, I figured if anything was going to go wrong, or if she had any major complaints about it, then I would have found out by now.
