Here are some of my better silver coins. I have dug some up on fields. Unfortuantely they sometimes are to be found in damaged condition on fields but these were near mint.

These are some better examples of my silver coins. German silver coins are very thin most of the time so you are lucky if you find a healthy one.

Today I found a Roman silver coin but unfortunately it was an acient fake - with an iron core.

I think that a fake iron centered coin would be rarer than a real silver one.

Yes, that's true Dean. However Bronce is still much preferable to iron as once the iron starts to rust it will bust away the silver layer!

Thats the problem with anything that has iron attached to it or part of it.

You have to get the moisture out of the iron or it will continue to rust.
I have found that putting an item in the ooven at 150 degrees for awhile will force the moisture out..this stops the item from rusting..the larger the item the longer you keep it in the oven
