Well, I have a Whites and frankly it sucks ! I have seen the Minelabs in use and it was a very impressive detector. I guess I would take either one, but would sell the Whites and put the money towards a Minelab. That is my opinion and take it for what it is worth. If your looking for lead shot and nails the Whites is the way to go !! It will tell you the difference between  the lead shot and a nail. But as far as finding gold nuggets it is way behind the Minelab.

GOOD LUCK
BD

I guess I should ask WHAT White's and WHAT minelab you have?
You may be comparing apples and oranges.

for example, if I were to compare a White's GMT and a Minelab musketeer, I could say that MINELABS "suck" for gold...

Every detector has it's nich, strangths and weaknesses or it would fail to exist.

My friend uses an old Whites and I would love to own it.  He always finds great treasure.  It may be that he is "attuned" to it.  I don't know.

Anyway have a safe Memorial Day weekend.

Whites, Minelab, who cares when it's free. Wish me luck.

lol...

It was a Whites when first posted, last month it was a Minelab (May) and THIS month it is a gold detector and another piece of prospecting equipment.
