Tabon Caves: Palawan’s Bid for UNESCO Inscription Gains Momentum

via Palawan News, 21 November 2023: The Provincial Government of Palawan and the National Museum of the Philippines are actively collaborating to nominate the Tabon Cave Complex for inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This initiative, led by the Task Force Tabon Cave Inscription and Nomination, involves thorough coordination efforts to fulfill the necessary criteria for UNESCO recognition. National Museum Director General Jeremy Barns has expressed strong support for this endeavor, with plans to visit Palawan for discussions with local stakeholders. If successful, the Tabon Cave Complex will become Palawan's third UNESCO World Heritage Site.
