   it's a dangerous place for sure....but if you love your history, it's an awesome place to be, i actually enjoyed being over there in Afghanistan, I just hated being in Iraq

Those were most likely from the arms markets in Pakistan.
There is a HUGE replica market there, and those guys can make ANYTHING.
Even more interesting considering HOW they are made.
Usually with basic hand tools and a forge..

The main reason I bought one of the pepperboxes was because of the engraving. The engraving on my sword matches it. It's amazing the level of craftsmanship they achieve with so little modern equipment.

You should take them to Vegas and get on Pawn Stars!!!! Then when they bring the expert in you would now which parts are replica and what isn't. Could be interesting.

I hated Iraq as well. Didn't get the chance to go to Afgan. but would have in a heartbeat. The history in both places is very interesting. I am into nuministics (collecting money), and bought some interesting bills while in Iraq. Had them looked at and found that some were in fact fake and the others were very real. Turned out to be worth some damn good money to! Still have them at home not sure I want to get rid of them just cause I would never be able to replace them. It is awesome to find items to collect overseas, especially when you can get them for cheap.
