metal_inspector, those of us who have lived in the land of mollusks and the occassional crinoid stem cry a river for you.  I'd love to find a trilobite, even a common variety, to add to my collection of found them myself fossils.  Of course I might have a better chance if I got myself off to different parts of the country than I usually hunt in  Wink

And RaceDaddy, with your one and only ammonite, you know how I feel about finding a trilobite.

Need something in the picture for size comparison.
Also about how much does it weigh?
If you are not scared about it, you can take it to a prepator and have it sliced into two presentation pieces. The insides of those are usually remarkable when cut and polished. Considering it is pyrite it would probably be one of the more remarkable specimens. It is just a an idea. Most people who have only one would not even think about slicing it.
