Here's a cool little Goniophorus scotti echinoid (sea urchin) from the mid-Cretaceous (97 million years old) deposits in north-central Texas.  It just goes to show Mother Nature has gems other than crystals and rocks.

Is that one from the Waco area?
I have a lot of them from the Weno,Grayson,Paw Paw,Main street and several other formations from Ft Worth, Waco and up through Sherman Tx.
I have some from the Waco area that still have the spines attached. Worse thing about them are that they are squashed.
I have found tiny crabs and brittlestar starfish associated in the same strata, look closer! Lots of nano ammonites and shark teeth too!
I'll post a picture soon so you will know what to look for, or have you already found some of them?
Let's get together sometime, I live in Irving.
Send me a personal Message and we can get together.
I'll be happy to show some spots to collect, weather prevailing.
For all I know we have allready met, ever go to Fossilmania?

Just thought I would post some pics of some of the stuff I have from a few of the sites I haunt.
The last pic is some of the Gonies I have, I have lots more. I also have some of the Lamberts not just the Scottis.
Eventually I will dig them out of storage and let yall take a look at a larger specimen of the Gonies. Also some of the specimens with spines attached.
NOTE: The center Gonie is one of about 3,000 "just larger than a pin head sized specimens" I took out of just one find.

Sorry images are a little blurred I'll try again later to clear them up.

Really nice finds. I think the starfish are especially amazing.
