hi everybody;

i found this rock and i would like to know what is it exactly;

the inner color of it is golden,,,It is heavy for it's size and when i did the magnet test  there is no attraction at all;

The red in the host rock indicates Iron.

Have you tryed it with a neodymium magnet ?

Streak test if Red to reddish brown could be hematite.   Hematite only has a slight magnetic attraction.

It intrigued me so I emailed the picture to some one I know. Here's the response.

"pyrite
you can see the crystal form which in this case is pyritohedrons. Only common mineral with that form."
