ADSIII, ACE 250

Go Up Go Down

It has been about a month since I found my ads III at a garage sale, my first detector. I got two coils with it, instruction tape, the arm support and phones. Folks had moved in off the farm and the lady did not know if it still worked or not. For nine dollars, i thought I would take a chance. I got it home and started to clean it up. Some of the batteries had corroded and freeing those, I pulled one of the connecters out of the battery carrier. Ouch! it took me a few days to figure out a course of action, but finally soldered in a new connector and fired it up! I went around the yard finding all kinds of trash. That got old in a hurry and I did not think much of my new pastime until we had our annual fall festival. It was a day of soaking rain. When the carnival pulled out it rutted the ball diamond that has been the carnival site for several years. With grandsons in tow I went up to do some hunting. I have pulled about ten dollars clad from that field, going over the same areas and finding more coins as I learn more about how to discriminate with this old thing. I am very impressed. what difference would I see with an ace 250?
Happy hunting

Good machines those ADS's!

 Cool

Only advantage of the 250 would be batteries and weight.

The ADS can do more things then the ACE if you know how.

The Ace does not have the TR function.

The Ace does not have volume control.

The Ace can not do Reverse discrimination.

Look into the Fisher F2 as well. It has a faster recovery, lighter and has a 5 year warranty. Holler if you have any questions.
