I just bought a used gta 350 and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this model of machine, and if anyone knows about coil choices available.

Ohh  Yess- i used one for bout the first 5 yr after they come out, sold it to a guy years back and it's still beepin and findin goodies, looks kinda rough , but never been to shop or broke down, just check the Garrett factory website, or call em, or get ahold of a Garrett dealer, all kinds of stuff is available, theyr'e good outfits, found much stuff with mine, jewlery, clad, U name it, fine detector-> not to worry, just go a beepin= ENJOY Great

Thanks bugar, I e-mailed garrett's and they actually mailed me back pretty quick. Bradley in the service-tech dept. says they have the sniper type coils and two elliptical coils , I haven't actually got it in my hands yet ( E-bad ) but depending on the ss# there may be an upgrade as well. I really like my compadre, in addition to my tracker IV and discovery  1000 but i thought I'd try a garrett as well and see what happens and of course save up some more money for a whites and a minelab.

M.D.S. has a tendency to sneak up on one, doesn't it (he says as he mentally takes stock of the various working and nearly working detectors in the truck and in the house)

I do feel a bit like Tiger Woods without the infidelity. I look at them and decide which to use today. And maybe a spare just in case. And batteries. Extra batteries. And one for the sand trap. A wedge.
