A lot of mixed reviews and after purchasing the Sea Hunter i have the same mixed thoughts. Not much discrimination, won't block out pull tabs or bottle caps even at highest #9 setting. Will block out gold at setting 8 so looks like i will have to use it with no disc if i want to find gold rings.

Any one out there have the same problems or is this just a bad unit? I have field tested it in my garden that i use with all my detectors, will be going to the beach in a couple of weeks for the final tryout. I have been talking to Garrett and will get this unit figured out. I believe it is a good unit for surf, sand, and underwater detecting.

Any help and guidance will be appreciated. I really like this forum there are a lot of us that have a lot of info to help each other

Thanks again

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

All the reviews I saw , said the Disc was useless on the SeaHunter II. But, they all said it was still a great machine.  GL and HH !

PI Detectors DO NOT HAVE DISCRIMINAIN!   PIERIOD!

They Can Eliminate some targets but loose everything below that point.

Loose the Pull Tabs and You Loose the Gold Rings!

If you want it All, You have to Dig it All! Cool

I use one for my work with "theringfinders.com" and I have the oversized coil.  I set mine at 0 discrim and digg everything.  A great underwater MD.  You can find a pulltab at 18".  Yes it detects everything, but then again you don't miss anything!  Kinda a pain in fresh water lakes and streams, but in the salt water.... all the crap rusts away quickly, so you know when the tone goes, its something valuable or just dropped.
My opinion is that it is a great MD for the money.  Pair it with a good underwater pinpointer and you will have a wicked setup!
