Go Up Go Down

Hey I used to live in Ophir back in 1980, I bought the beer hall, the stone building that used to have a beer sign on it, don't know if it still does.  I sold it to my neighbor next door in the late 80s.  I lived up there that summer, cool place.

Go Up Go Down

Every time gold goes up a bunch of old claims and ghost towns trade hands and then a year or two later return to silence Smiley

Sad to see old ghost towns torn down in the name of progress.

I am torn, since preservation usually requires the fed to get involved and muck things up and private ownership usually is followed by keep out no tresspass signs.

Thanks for the stories and pictures Smiley a neat old place.
