Hi. I'm a former Hoosier but now living in SW Arkansas. I was raised in Jennings County, IN and some folks in that area find gold by panning sand dug out of cracks in creek bedrock. Never heard of any big finds. There is no natural gold in that area. It was deposited by the glaciers. I now live 12 miles from Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas. New diamonds are found there each week. Been there several times with my family but without success. Lots of fun though. The park is a great place to vacation. There is a nice museum and a small water park to cool off in after long day hunting.
