Hello elert.L

An introduction of yourself is considered polite in stead of asking inflammatory questions?

I suggest you read the sources of the information supplied before criticizing the Greeks over the story. In fact most of the historical sources are not from them at all.

If you have historical references to contribute that disproves the treasure story on the contrary then please do do so.

But please avoid turning this topic into a political debate or slanging match about Turkish, Albanian Greek relations as will not be tolerated at all. If this is not to your liking then go somewhere else to play.

Ps I am not Greek, Albanian or Turkish and even if I was It should not be an issue.

The Topic is about Ali Pasha.

Hardluck

I wonder what method was used to locate the supposed area for drilling  ?
Also there could be more than 1 location for possible treasure ?

Hello Goldnboy

There are many unanswered questions about this legend. I have not see any evidence of an inventory of treasure. So we can only rely on historical references that there was a belief that he had amassed a sizable wealth.

It appears the Ottoman empire believed there was hidden wealth and even in the early 20th century to this day there is a belief that treasure is hidden somewhere. Perhaps there is evidence out to confirm the existence of treasure? It is strange that Greek government with its very strict treasure hunting laws seems openly condoning the latest search.

Perhaps one of our thunters from that part of the world will post some thing interesting on the subject or an update on what is happening at the moment?

Hello Goldnboy

I have been told by a PM that there are several groups looking for this alleged hoard now especially with the economic crisis in Greece.
