The coin will have been minted by someone (probably one of the English monarchs) that claimed title to the French throne. The upper left and lower right quadrants of the shield are the french royal emblems (consistent with the way Henry IV, Edward IV, and Elizabeth I used/placed the French Fluer de Lis in their Royal coat of arms). I'd suggest looking at the personal coat of arms for the English monarchs of that period.

That means the coin is from the Duchy of Burgundy during the reign of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy
