Today a friend of mine from our club set up some of our displays at a local fair. The wheather was a little cool but nice and sunny any ways, there were several on lookers all day. We enjoy sharing with the public our finds and educating the kids on some history of our finds. Lornes display is the first set then mine. Thanks for looking.

You are doing a good job! Children need to know their history. This is a great idea, thank you!

Hey  is that heart shaped quartz a sign of treasure???   Which way was it pointed Crazy

Sorry I just couldn't resist.

You guys have a neat exhibit, I think it would be really cool to do something like that.  LOL, that would of course mean I would have to get off the net and go detecting   Huh?

Thanks for the show and keep it up.

Thanks for the kind words, the heart shaped rock is granite not quartz. I had this 1850s site that had a dig done on it, this is one of the items they left behind. I have had some one tell me that they may have had the stone in the wall of thier house to give it heart, who knows for sure, but I like it for my displays. Wise

This is one way to show the public what kind of stuff we can find in the ground. I just say if we dont pick it up that it will be lost forever. A lot of the things we find are one of a kind, likely not in any books. I wish there was away for more people to get together and show off what things we all find in different parts of the country. But I think this forum is a great place to show off what we have found, there should be a book on relics, coins, and of coarse old rings, anything worn on the body. My collection is a fair size of just found items from the ground, there should lots more to come. Detecting

Great displays, and a nice way to inform the public!  Wonderful job.  Thanks for doing that, and for sharing it with us!    Great       Detecting

I am glad people enjoy our finds, I like how you can ask any one in a crown looking at your finds, what do you think this could be or what year was the last year of a coin run, they usually donèt know, but I think most of us in this hobby can answer those questions. Teach Here is one thing that I found in an 1812 site, I think it was used for cleaning the bore of a cannon.
