You might get a kick out of this...

I got an order in the mail today for my book (The Metal Detecting Manual).

The accompanying letter said, "I only hope that it is worth the money as Karl von Mueller's TREASURE HUNTER'S MANUAL #6 only cost $6.95 when it was published...."

Ouch!  First, don't compare me to Karl!  That man did more in a week than I'll do in a lifetime!

But on the other hand....

Karl's book was first released in 1961.  The price of gasoline in 1961 was 30.9 cents per gallon.  The price of gas right down the street from me is now $3.89 per gallon.

So okay, let me do the math...excuse me for a minute here...

GOT IT!  Using that gas ratio, the cost of Karl's book today would be...TA-DA!...$87.21!

And mine costs just $19.95.

So what do you think - should I raise my price?

Must say the title of this post certainly grabbed my attention  Cool

Having read both, I can truthfully say I  am glad I have both in my library.

And the going price for Karl's book is now around $99.00, so what's the best price...  ? !

Thanks, Dan, that story is...   priceless!

Plus, I have both books, too, and they are worth it!                         Detecting
