Or anytime soon for that matter! We just got a fresh foot of that cold white-stuff dumped on us last night and today.

Having the same problem here, good thing I don't have a detector yet or I would be going crazy! The snow gives me time make a decision! With new detectors I suppose it wouldn't be impossible to detect in the snow but I don't know how fun it would be!  Smiley

I've seen a few videos on youtube where the guys go out in a couple inches of snow and get hits! So, it just matters if you're willing to freeze your behind off!

It might be worth considering when you drop a coin in the snow the chances of actually noticing are pretty slim. Which could make for a lot of clad lying in snow banks. Not really what I would call adventuress detecting but ..I'm sure there are those out there that would do it. Spring is still a few months away so if I get a MD before then I might give it a try! Actually I doubt that moist cold air would be optimal for most MD's so I think I'll pass on that...  Beer Chug

Well, guys, a lot of people over the years have done, and do, cold weather and snow detecting!  Never was for me, though!  I don't have as much snow as you right now but there are a few inches from this whole week and temps. are getting into the teens and twenties F.   I'm waiting for Spring!                Wise

I think it would be pretty prohibitive here, you would need snowshoes! Not so much right now, we are in the middle of a thaw...50 degrees right now! But NORMALLY you would need snowshoes to get around..  Detecting
