I have the pro pointer and i am wondering if they are  hard on batteries , i seem to be replacing them  often.. Does the pistol pro eat batteries as well?

I have a pro pointer, Batt's last me about the same amount of hours as the md, xt 505, some times a few hrs more. I detect about 2 -3 times a week if possible. maybe 1/1/2 to 3hrs a clip.

I have the pistol pointer and don't detect a lot but the batteries are still going strong for 2-3 months.

I have a propointer since September 11 using it about twice a week and have never changed the battery as yet.
