I have yet to meet anyone in the field with a Troy. The gold detectors of choice are the Minelabs- SD and GP series. Whites Goldmaster's. Fisher Gold Bug 2. Then you have the other machines like Garrett, Tesoro, etc. Just never seen or heard about a Troy in the goldfields.

Steve

OK= around 20 yr ago  + - Fella named  Troy Galloway= smart chap, designed and engineered a detector called the X2, had it made by Tesoro, for several years to his specs, very critical specs on elec tolerances i am told, they worked very good,  then he made a X5 model, more elaborate with more features, same very critical tolerances on all elec components, these were made by Fisher in Los Banos Ca., these were the top of the line , sold for around $1000.00 + -, then he designed the X3 fewer features, but same quality, made by Fisher, somewhere along the line I guess the contracts expired for the manufacture of the detectors, he did not have a factory, just an office, He has quite a following of detectorists as they were very good machines,
Troy is still available, as people still call him on his  cell phone for information, the # is on the website, he is a great guy to talk to, have talked to hm a few times, as have had 3 of his detectors, and was very pleased, but have not talked to him in quite a while, and from what i hear there is no news of any new detectors being made by anyone, and there have not been any manufactured for maybe 3 yr now.
Does this help Huh? Detecting
