Go Up Go Down

From the land of the Bluenose.....I am a firm believer that this is a hobby and not for a profit sort of thing. I have never sold anything that I have dug up before save for a tin of junk that I was going to throw out and a Bud from PEI said send it over and we'll go 50 50 ( made $400 USA on that which financed a trip to dig in Yarmouth for a few days) but a retired Mountie at work wishes to buy the ring that is in the photo.

What are your thoughts about this as I'm of a mixed train of thought on the issue that to me is not going to be a new trend nor norm but a possible one shot special thing?

Well, I think that if you are not in particular attached to this ring while someone else might really have lost of interest in it, then why not part with it? Besides you can use the funds for buying treasure books, accessories or other thinsg that would come in handy for our hobby.

A great ring by the way!

I agree. It is a very nice ring and if you're not partial to it for some reason and this person is showing interest in it then why not go ahead and sell it and use the funds for extra gear or maybe even a short day trip or something. Best of luck with your decision.

Well Leslie,
I think that as you're not in the habit of selling any of your finds, you obviously don't need the money.
That ring would be memories for him of when he was in the R.C.M.P.
I think you should gift it to him thereby making a friend for life.
I'm quite certain that you've got many ring finds that you can look at whenever you wish, so what difference will one solitary ring make to you.

I agree, I don't sell anything I find, I have given a few items away to people that like them more than I...If I was to find something that I was not attached to, and someone wanted it for what ever reason, I would be willing to Trade or sell it to them with no hard feelings...rings and coins have little meaning to me..so I would be willing to let it go.

Dean

I doubt you'd hex your good luck by selling something . . . . think of all the batteries & fuel you'll be reimbursed for. I think it's neat that you've found something someone would like to buy! Sue
