First, I would recommend a good pair of hard bottom booties. If you see the results of someone walking through an oyster field you will see what I mean. The scuba fins come in many shapes. You will want one that is comfortable to you to swim with while wearing your booties. The only way to do this is to put a pair on and try them. Your individual swimming style and leg power will determine what you can use. If you have to choose without swimming with them start with the smallest shape for your foot size with bootie. A general rule might be a snug bootie and an not quite loose fin. There is a good market for used scuba equipment so you can trade up the larger fins as your legs develop. If you do not swim enough to gain power then you can just stick with the small fins.

you want to get a size larger than your shoe size so the booties will fit in the pocket
