I'm trying to find an owners manual for a Heathkit Groundtracker GD-1290 metal detector.  Would like to find one online so I can download it.  Can anyone help?

Hello HW . You will find one but they are becoming a very rare "collectors item". The ones who sell the original heathkit manuals on Heathkit web-sites usually want a hefty price . Find someone who only sells the complete photo-copy , that will be much cheaper . If not , I saw the GD-1290 selling with the original manual on ebay several months ago was not too expensive , so keep checking e-bay or even craigslist .... Just keep searching and you should get lucky . I only have the schematic that is posted on the internet . I will search again later  or someone else here may know something when they read your post here. Also there is a Vintage MD site for very old Machines , just type in vintage metal detector on google search . It looks like e-bay is your best chance for getting an inexpensive original GD-1290 manual  .

HH.............Eugene

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
