Go Up Go Down

Hi,

I wanted to open a discussion based on a question my friend asked me: If you have an open budget and you want to invest in treasure hunting what equipment would you buy? Since there is a lot of scams out there that promise you almost xray visions, and there is also the different opinions concerning this technology and that company and all sorts of preferences. So I wanted to pose two questions actually to all the experienced treasure hunters in this forum:
You have a white check what would you buy as a treasure hunter?

My first thought was GPRs which led me to the second question:
What's the best Ground penetrating radar out there?

I would like the answers to be specific if you may. I mean I would like you to mention the specific model of the equipment and the specific manufacturer. I would also like the answers to be based on personal experience if possible because not all reviews out there can be trusted.

Bottom Line?   What you can afford and Truly know how to use.   I  found more coins and gold   (GOLD FROM THE CREEKS)  with a 1970 BFO detector then most people could do with a  $5000.00 machine and lack of time in the Brain area.   Some folks don't understand Detectorneese!  Yea the Detector can talk to you if you know what to hear.

Your first question is way to general for a specific answer.  A lot rides on what your interests are, what you want to do, how you want to do it, what kind of treasure you want to hunt for, etc., etc., etc..  Do you want to hunt sunken treasure?  Do you want to hunt lost mines?  do you want to hunt hidden treasures (like Yamashita, etc.)?  Do you want to hunt government or family caches?  Do you want to prospect or mine for precious metals?  You will have to much more specific in your question for anyone to give you any meaningful answer!

I, personally, know nothing about GPRs.

For me treasure is cache of gold or jewelry that is at least 2 pounds heavy and 1.5 yard deep at least. Could be a chest a jar or multiple of both. Could be inside a build structure underground, inside a rock, or buried an plain old dirt. Hope that gives you an idea what I meant by treasure.
