I used to dig in trash pits and old dumps--found some neat stuff that way--old bottles, coins, marbles, porcelain doll parts, small statuettes, etc. I've seen swords, belt buckles, old coins, buttons, etc. that folks dug from these sites...neat stuff! Great Most of the little stuff is found by sifting the debris from the dumps and pits, etc.

Shocked    I'm bug eyed with all the info on detector's, it's hard to know which is right for me. Hey treasuremomo: what do u think about the technology with the Tesoro Musketeer Advantage. I had an old Garrett groundhog 28 yrs ago & have forgotten almost everything I know.

The last time I dug through a trash pile I ended up with an Ariens snowthrower. It worked but very poorly. After a complete rebuild on my part and a new paint job it runs and looks like new and is certainly large enough for my Garrett to detect from across the garage! It's made from heavy metal stampings and a cast gearbox... worth the effort to save and resurrect it.

Hello Hitech  ........Nice find and a really great job of restoring the Ariens snow blower. Looks like it could really blow some snow. Some of the older equipment is better then the new.   John in Va...

Are you referring to my $5 Garrett? If so yes what a deal. A friend of mine was cleaning out his attic and had absolutely no interest in it and said "just give me $5". I couldn't grab my wallet fast enough! Then again, I have worked on his vehicles for him often. Perhaps it was a way of repaying me.
