I agree but Minelab products as far as the Sd series are top notch.
For the most part they do as advertised.
If companies like OKM and Knokta and others produced products that did what they say,Minelab and others would have real competion but they can't so they don't and Minelab knows that.

Your spot on RM, Minelab does'nt have to react to other companies like they do because there products are very good
or if you like, For instance SD/GP-X machines are the best and it is a shame they choose to Cheapen and Dirty their own name.

All their efforts in the past they just distroy through Dirty tricks and Lies that just dont need to be said,
their price fixing by gettin the import duty raised on other brands means they can then raise the Prices of their machines again

Your right.

I emailed Minelab a few months ago and suggested they do some PR work and start reading all the negative press on the Treasure boards out there about them or that us little guys ( the people that stayed with them from the start) will end up doing our business somewhere else if he they keep going in the GREED direction that they are currently prosuing

It was a solid 2 page email and the response that I got back was that if I had a question on a particular model that a sales person would be happy to assist me.

What a joke and waste on my time.

For me my Sovereign Gt has done what I needed it to do without fail since it came out.

A quality product.I got what I paid for.

In the future I'm looking at a GPX 4800/5000 or whatever they come out with next and that should be the only products I need to purchase from them again.

I mainly beach detect and 2-3 feet digging on/in dry sand is pretty easy but 3 feet plus on low tide wet sand is " work".Especially for that golden penny.LOL

4-5 feet seems like it will take the fun out it when they come up with the technology and someday they probably will.

So for me,I'm just about done buying their products.

Hopefully Whites and Garrett will step up to the plate and compete with them head to head someday?

When that happens I'll gladly replace any and all minelab products I own with theirs.

Just my 2 cents,

JP

I Agree JP,  My first machines, (coz i bought 2 at once) were the Muskateer advantage and the GP 3500, then the sovereign GT and
the Quatro, and just before Christmas the E-Trac and a heck of alot of accessories, But they have all gone now and I hope they read this because they have distroyed a good friendship and Lost a Pro- Customer
