When you tested the Damaged component, it was erroneous.  Damaged Goods.   Electrolytic Leaked out, Foil could be shorted. No Telling.

Just plug in a 100uf ,300vdc electrolytic and be done with it.

All will be Well!

If it's used to supply a feed back or signal path, your covered.

In this case you could use a Mylar or other type .

If it's part of a Power supply your covered.

Electrolytes are pretty much history except used in power supplies.

Grin Grin GD this thing is like really weird for one the speaker is on a transformer I am having a hard time with it and I'm doing a job during the day so I have not had much time to really look at it yet but I will try to trace the circuit as soon as the weekend comes it's the only way that I will be able to get it sorted out.

All the best
Xavier

Hi Homefire

Sounds like a plan but I'm not sure on the value of the cap it measures 34nf but it dose have damage on the end so it's probably not the correct value.

Regards Xavier

Transformer is for Impedance matching.

Is the cap between the source and Transformer?

Tell you what I'll do Homfire tomorrow when I come home for lunch I will take some photos of the radio and post them for you to see I'm not familiar with this old electronics and I must admit that I'm quite lost and if it were up to me this radio would go in the bin (it's heavy big and ugly  Grin )

(it's heavy big and ugly   )

Awwww But Cool!

 Great

Save it if you can.

Just plug a Green Mylar rated at the same in the place and all should be good.

It's not going to Toast on you.

Worst come to Worst, it's going to have a lower output.

Have fun.

Jim

I would say that it is 500v range, which as said earlier does not make any difference.... What I used to do was just clip two double crocodile ended wires where the cap was, and to just try different caps till you find the best. This is a trick I learnt when fixing valve radios years ago...

The EB marking on the capicator caught my eye. The EB I'm familiar with, is a style of electrolitic. Unfortanuately I can't help with the value.. Good luck
