for the most part, MD rules in Ks are fairly relaxed. I would certainly try to scare up a local detector for the expedition. Some parts of Topeka I would not hunt alone. (a large city by Ks. standards.

I was hunting in a park in Cedar Park TX. with my grandson this weekend. It is a modern community on the edge of Hill Country North of Austin. much to my surprise, we unearthed a number of spent cartridges under a group of trees. Several 30-30 Winchester, one 30-06 Springfield, one 300 savage and one that I believe was a 270 Winchester magnum.

poor memory. the last cartridge was spirited away by one of our "gallery"....Remington Mag of unknown caliber it looked like 270 to me.

I wonder why there was such a collection like that. You sure know your ammunition!
Thanks for sharing, i have to find a better area to search, i want to go to a ghost town maybe i will find a place to search.
